Im Internet finden sich unzählige Fotos von Rennpferden und Jockeys. Bedeutend geringer ist die Ausbeute aber, wenn man nach Bildern der Rennbahnen sucht. Unserem Hobby entsprechend, wollen wir diese Lücke schließen. In all unseren Fotoserien finden sich deshalb Aufnahmen der Tribünen und der umgebenden Landschaft, in die eine Rennbahn eingebettet ist. Wir zeigen die Pferde nicht nur am Zielpfosten, sondern auch im Führring, am Start, beim Einbiegen in die Zielgerade oder beim Absatteln. Kurzum, wir wollen mit unseren Bildern etwas von der Atmosphäre der jeweiligen Rennbahn vermitteln.
On the Internet you'll find lots of photos of race horses and jockeys. However, you'll detect notably less photos of the racetracks themselves. According to our hobby, we'd like to fill this gap. Therefore you'll find shots of the grandstands and the racetracks' surrounding landscape in all of our photo series. We don't only show the horses on the finish line, but also in the ring, at the start, reaching the home stretch or just being untacked. In a word - we'd like to share the atmosphere of the racetrack.
Globalturf.de ist eine private Fan-Seite. Alle Fotos sind selbst erstellte Amateuraufnahmen, die meisten digital. Es finden sich aber auch eine Reihe älterer Analogbilder, bei denen die Negative eingescannt wurden, hier ist die Qualität meist etwas geringer. Sobald wir neuere Fotos einer Rennbahn haben, werden wir die alten Aufnahmen natürlich ersetzen. Andererseits wollen wir unsere Rennbahn-Sammlung ständig erweitern. Besonders bei exotischen Zielen, z.B. Settat in Marokko - die Fotos stammen aus dem Jahr 1995, ist es deshalb sehr unwahrscheinlich, dass wir je wieder dorthin gelangen und neue Bilder erstellen. Es geht uns nicht in erster Linie um Aktualität!
Globalturf.de is a private fan site. All of the photos are self made snap shots, most of them digital. Although there is still a row of analog pics among them, of which we scanned the negatives, what explains a lower quality at times. As soon as we have newer photos of a race track, we'll replace the old ones, of course. Otherwise we endeavor to enlarge our race track collection constantly. So, concerning the exotic destinations, it's very unlikely, that we will reach them once again to take new photos - per example Settat in Morocco with the pictures of the year 1995. Actuality is not our first and last ambition!
Zusammen haben wir gegenwärtig etwa 400 Rennbahnen in fast 50 Ländern besucht. Von den meisten existieren Dutzende von Aufnahmen. Schon aus Platzgründen ist es unmöglich, alle zu veröffentlichen. Neben den dauerhaft zur Verfügung stehenden Bildern gibt es deshalb die Rubrik „Rennbahn des Monats“ (bitte nicht zu genau nehmen), in der wir ständig wechselnde Fotos zeigen. Vielleicht ist das ja Anlass, unsere Seite mal wieder zu besuchen. Das Format der Bilder wurde so gewählt, dass sie sich zum Anschauen auf dem Monitor und zum kleinformatigen Ausdruck eignen, aber nicht zu viel Speicherplatz benötigen.
For the time being, both of us visited about 400 race tracks in 50 countries. We took dozens of pictures of most of them. Not least because of the limited web space we cannot publish them all. Thus, besides of the permanently shown pictures, there will be a "Track of the months"-rubric (please, don't take us literally), where we'll try to show alternating photos. - Maybe it encourages you to visit our homepage again! The photos are formatted in a way, that they are suitable for viewing on the screen or for a small print, without taking too much disc space.
Wir wollen die Bilder gern mit allen Interessenten teilen und stellen sie deshalb zum kostenlosen Download bereit. Im Gegenzug erwarten wir aber bei Veröffentlichung oder sonstiger kommerzieller Nutzung zumindest die Quellenangabe. Auf Anfrage stellen wir auch weitere Fotos der jeweiligen Rennbahn bzw. Bilder in höherer Auflösung zur Verfügung. Falls jemand die genannten Rennbahnen ebenfalls besuchen möchte, stehen wir für praktische Tipps gern zur Verfügung.
We'd like to share our photos with everybody, who is interested in them. Therefore, please, feel free to download them! But, in case of publishing or commercial use, please, be so kind to mention the source! We'll be delighted to provide you with more pictures of the specified race tracks on request - if possible also in better quality. - If you want to visit one of the racetracks, don't hesitate to ask for our advice and hints!
